Emily Marshall (MScOT – UCT – with distinction)

I started Marshall Occupational Therapy in April 2023 with the desire to provide holistic and accessible occupational therapy care to people in their homes. I have a passion for people, and I always aim to have hope, see potential, to encourage, to guide, and to learn. I thoroughly enjoy building meaningful connections, providing emotional support through a recovery journey to the person and their loved ones, and enabling engagement in meaningful occupations. 

I have a wide range of interests which include:

  • Mental health – depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, life skills education, trauma-informed care
  • Neurology – stroke, dementia, Parkinson’s Disease, brain cancer, visual impairment following a neurological condition
  • Support with return to work following a medical diagnosis
  • Conducting clinical driving assessments

Nicolene van der Westhuizen

Nicolene is one half of the dynamic duo called VDW Medical Billing, which has more than a decade's experience with medical billing and claim resolutions. They make all practices their own personal project to help build the practice's success and growth.

SERVICES ON OFFER

Comprehensive, whole person in context assessment followed by:

  • Person-centered approach: rapport- and trust-building, setting goals in partnership.
  • Cognitive, fine-motor, gross-motor, and functional rehabilitation and/or compensatory techniques including work hardening and return to work support.
  • Emotional support, life skills training, daily routine enrichment.
  • Education related to condition.
  • Recommendations with a report on useful home adaptations, exercises, activities, assistive devices and support resources.
  • Home environmental assessment.
  • Clinical driving assessment.
